Neuspeed's New Projects
Mixing and matching Honda K-series engine parts was inevitable and Neuspeed is about to undertake just such a venture for its Acura RSX Type-S project car.
Beyond vacuuming the normal array of products off the catalog (including a complete suspension system), Neuspeed is now working on a 2.4-liter K-series engine-now wearing an RSX Type-S cylinder head-it's scavenged from an Accord. Without resorting to forced induction schemes, Neuspeed is hoping the RSX will get 240 to 250 hp while inhaling through one of Neuspeed's own P-Flow intakes.
Currently, the highest output production version of the 2.4-liter K-Series is installed in the Acura TSX where it makes 200 hp. When Neuspeed has completed the engine modifications, we'll run the BFGs right off its 18-inch SSR Type C wheels.
Supra Nationals Texas - DVD Review
Do yourself a favor and skip over the first three minutes of this DVD since it's ads. In fact, there are a few more ads dropped into the rest of the DVD, too. And for a DVD about Supras, there's a surprisingly high number of Vipers, Mustangs and Camaros around.
March 2003's Supra Nationals in Houston, Texas, may have been one of the greatest import car events of all time, but there's not much in this DVD that conveys that excitement. For instance, watching cars run on a Dynojet can be interesting, but the results are meaningless if you don't know the modifications made to the car's running and this production provides none of that context. For instance, someone named Chris Parvin put his externally stock mid-'80s Supra up on the rollers and knocked off 416 hp at the rear wheels, but all this DVD provides is the sound of a pretty nasty turbo spinning under Parvin's hood.
For someone who attended this event and forgot to bring a video camera, getting this DVD isn't a bad way to bring home some belated memories. Otherwise, why bother?
This DVD is available through the producer's Web site at www.extrememotorsports.tv for an uncheap $30.
